Hailing from a lineage of avid foodies and professional cooks, Sophie Michell’s first encounters with cooking were with her grandmother.

Sophie went on to train at the respected Butler’s Wharf Chef School in London, while working and training at reputable and glamorous restaurants La Gavroche, Michelin-starred Greenhouse, the Lanesborough and the Embassy. At the age of 19, Sophie had been nominated ‘Young Chef of the Year’ by the prestigious Craft Guild of Chefs.

Sophie’s gastronomic interests have always centred on eclectic cuisine, quality ingredients and nutritional virtue.

As part of Heathrow Airport’s growth of Terminal 2 as a destination for food, fashion and lifestyle, Michell is part of the team behind The Gorgeous Kitchen, an exciting new contemporary restaurant providing passengers with a delicious menu worthy of any of the capital’s top restaurants. In 2015 it won ’Best Airport Restaurant’ and is now in it’s 5th year.

Her high standard of cooking and reputation led her to become the private chef for international supermodel Claudia Schiffer for two years, and work for other starry clients such as Leonardo DiCaprio and David Cameron.

She has also continued to cater for high profile events; for two years running she was appointed as executive chef for The Royal Polo, cooking for Prince William and Prince Harry at Lord Lloyd Webber’s estate.

Sophie was part of an expert task force brought on to fix and rebrand the iconic burger chain Byron. She started as a consultant and then took the role as Food and Drink Director. With 55 sites to oversee, Sophie was responsible for all the Food and Drink menus, Procurement, Supply Chain, Health and Safety & Chef training.

Sophie took the role of Executive Chef at the prestigious Home House, Private member’s club in central London in 2018.

Sophie was responsible for all food at Home House; including in The Restaurant, the House’s classic dining space, pan-Asian restaurant the Octagon Dining Room, the opulent drawing rooms, lounges and bars.
Sophie also developed an alfresco menu for The Garden Restaurant and covered room service for the House’s 23 bedrooms and 8 luxurious event spaces.

Sophie became the UK’s youngest female Executive Chef at London’s chic Belgraves Hotel; She completely overhauled the food offering after Chef Mark Hix’s departure from the luxury boutique hotel, which had a superb response and numerous good reviews.

With over 15 years experience of high-end event catering, Sophie and her team offer a tailored service: from bespoke menu design through to Sophie’s personal event participation as host and guest speaker. At events such as Jimmy Choo, and Veuve Clicquot.
