Phil Vickery

A neck injury sustained when captaining London Wasps against his former club Gloucester in September 2010 forced his retirement from the game.
Since hanging up his boots Phil continues to give up his time for a number of charities – including The Pied Piper Appeal and Wooden Spoon.

In addition, Phil is an official ambassador to both the Prince’s Countryside Fund and Six Nations title sponsor RBS, including the banking group’s RugbyForce scheme. Phil was part of ITV Sport’s team for their exclusive Coverage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, and in October 2011 he was crowned BBC Celebrity MasterChef champion after beating journalist Kirsty Wark and actor Nick Pickard in the final.

In May 2012 Phil took up his first coaching role in rugby at Premiership level when he was appointed Assistant Forwards Coach by Worcester Warriors for the 2012/13 season.

Phil teamed up with McDonald’s to help recruit a team of Quality Scouts from the public to go behind the scenes and look at the world-famous restaurant’s supply chain.

A prominent businessman alongside being a prolific player and rugby speaker, Vickery’s Raging Bull story began back in 2003 when Phil started a company to manufacture playing kits for rugby clubs. Phil chose the name Raging Bull for his emerging company based on the nickname he acquired whilst rampaging around the pitch. The company logo was obvious at this point and the iconic bull symbol made its first appearance. Through his company, Phil has supplied kit to teams across the country, showcasing his business and managerial abilities alongside his outstanding communication skills, which transfer effortlessly to support his work as a rugby speaker.

In 2023 Phil took part in an ITV brand new two-part documentary last year called “Grand Slammers” and had one of the leading roles, members of the 2003 side including captain Martin Johnson, Jonny Wilkinson, Lawrence Dallaglio, Jason Robinson, Will Greenwood, Ben Cohen, Mike Tindall and Matt Dawson attempt to build and train a team of prisoners to be strong enough to compete against a formidable rival, the Australians.

Playing out over two consecutive nights during ITV’s exclusive coverage of this year’s tournament, Grand Slammers sees the heroes enter HMP The Mount – home to one of the only remaining rugby pitches inside an adult male English prison.

A very popular figure within the game of rugby that is incredibly engaging and approachable, Vickery is also able to discuss the harsh reality of professional sport during his work as a rugby speaker. Suffering from a number of severe neck injuries that eventually ended his career, Vickery shares the drive and determination that was required to get through an incredibly challenging mental battle. A household name that has excelled in various areas of life and in particularly on the rugby pitch. He is a good communicator and presenter and passionate about food and its origins.

He has a good social media presence and is available for campaigns, product endorsements, social posting.

Phil lives in Gloucestershire and has two children Megan and Harry, and he maintains a strong interest in rural issues and farming, as well as being founder of the successful sportswear company Raging Bull.
