Professional eater and drinker Andy Clarke is one of the UKs most exciting and vibrant voices in the food & drink industry. Having worked in food, drink, travel and behind the camera as a television producer, Andy is happiest when communicating his love of all things edible and sippable. Either on telly or via his social media platform. As a host at events, Andy can be found on the stage with chefs, behind the scenes and as one of the country’s most respected food & drink writers.

Andy’s TV production credits include developing and producing ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ (BBC1), series producing Both James Martin’s French & American Adventures (ITV) and being responsible for food & drink on ‘Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip’ (ITV). He also produced and directed a brand series ‘Rachel Khoo’s Chocolate’ (Discovery+ / Food Network) and helped to produce ‘The Great Cookbook Challenge with Jamie Oliver’ (Channel 4).

Writer – Andy now writes about food & drink for many publications including a regular column in The BBQ Magazine where Andy creates recipes and is drinks correspondent. He has also written for The Telegraph. He regularly hosts events and festivals including

Host – The Soil Association’s ‘BOOM’ Awards (Best of organic market), a role that he will return to this summer. He has also hosted The Golden Pineapple Awards which in 2022 was held at The Natural History Museum in London for The Drinks Trust, a charity for which Andy is a patron. This year will also see Andy return to being resident host at all Pub in the Park locations and he will be hosting cocktail demonstrations at The Royal Bath & West Show, Thame Food Festival and at The BBC Good Food Show.

Judge – Andy’s palate is also put to good use as food and drink judge. He regularly judges for Great Taste Awards, The British Cheese Awards, The British Pie Awards, The Independent English Wine Awards, The Soil Association ‘BOOM’ Awards and The Irish Food Writing Awards and hosts food and wine matching dinners and seminars around London and in the West Country in conjunction with well-known chefs.

Consultant – For many years Andy has been a consultant to the food and hospitality industry through offering practical advice to restaurants, bars and catering companies. As well as this Andy has trained chefs to be on camera, curated wine lists for restaurants, designed cocktails for drinks brands and he has been involved in organising bespoke projects, campaigns initiatives and events for a number of organisations. Andy recommended all the wine and drink pairings to go with the food on the first series of ‘James Martin’s Saturday Morning’ (ITV) and recommended all wines on ‘Word to the Mothers’, a series written and hosted by Mum-Blogger Zeena Moolla (Made TV).

Food festivals – In recent years Andy has taken the role of Editor of Food & Drink at CarFest, Chris Evans’s festival at Laverstoke Park Farm in aid of children’s charities.

TV – In 2020 Andy then joined the team on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ as a cocktail expert. Andy currently regularly appears on ITV’s ‘Love your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh’ as food, wine and drinks expert. Andy is also the resident cheese expert in Channel 5 documentary ‘Britain’s Favourite Cheese at Christmas’, narrated by Dawn French which aired in December 2023.

Books – May 2022 saw the worldwide publication of Andy’s first book ‘Home Bar’ by Welbeck, a fun and informative book helping us all to become mixologists at home.
Andy’s latest cocktail book ‘House of Gin’ will be internationally published in May 2024 published by Hardie Grant.
